Burnout follows a predictable pattern.
And when we understand that pattern, we can interrupt it before exhaustion takes over.
The problem is, most of us don't recognise the signs, or don't pay attention to them enough, until it's too late.
🩷 We keep telling ourselves we'll slow down once things settle.
🩷 We push through the tiredness, the irritability, the creeping sense that something is off.
🩷 We stay busy because stopping feels like a risk we can't afford.
This assessment was created to give you a clear picture of where you are right now, before you reach the point of no return.
It is based on the Anderson Model of Burnout Prevention™ (AMBP™), a practical, research-informed framework that maps how burnout accumulates across three zones, and identifies the intervention points that allow you to act before burnout becomes the only option.
It is not a clinical diagnosis. It is a starting point, a mirror, and a nudge to act before it's too late.
It addresses the science of stress, the lived reality of modern work, and the emotional experience of high-performing humans.
Most importantly, it gives practical tools and steps to prevent burnout, no matter how busy we are.

Before you begin, please read this.
If you currently recognise yourself in all three of the following, you may already be experiencing burnout. Please do not complete this assessment. What you need right now is rest and professional support, not a risk profile. Please see your G.P. as a priority.
If that's not you, keep going.
Your progress
Based on the Anderson Model of Burnout Prevention™ (AMBP™). Tick everything that resonates with you, even partially.
1 point each — These are the earliest signals. Most people push through these.
Activation: 0 / 5
2 points each — Performance still looks fine from the outside. Inside, the cost is high.
Over-functioning: 0 / 10
3 points each — This is the high-risk zone. Without intervention, burnout becomes likely.
Depletion: 0 / 15
Based on the research of Dr Christina Maslach. 1 point each. A YES means this is currently an issue for you.
Workplace: 0 / 6
1 point subtracted for each YES. A YES here means this resource is genuinely active in your life right now, not just something you know you should do.
Protective resources: 0 (subtracted from total)

FAQs
Is my score private? Yes it is. This assessment runs in your browser. Nothing you tick is stored, tracked, or sent to anyone, including Sophie. When you close the page, everything is gone. The only data Systeme.io collects is standard website visit information, the same as any page on the internet, and it has nothing to do with your responses or your score.
Is this a clinical diagnosis? No. The Personal Burnout Risk Profile© is an educational tool, not a diagnostic instrument, and it does not constitute medical advice. It is designed to give you language for what you may be experiencing and a starting point for honest reflection. If you are unwell or concerned about your health, please see your G.P. or a qualified health practitioner as a priority.
How is this different from other burnout assessments? Most burnout tools are designed to identify burnout after it has already happened. This one is different. The AMBP™ maps how burnout accumulates across three zones, Activation, Over-functioning and Depletion, before the threshold is crossed. This assessment is built on that model, alongside the workplace contributor research of Dr Christina Maslach, to give you a picture of your risk right now, not after the fact.
My result doesn't feel quite right. What does that mean? Your score reflects your current snapshot, and burnout risk is not a fixed state. It shifts with your circumstances, your load, and your resources. If your result feels off, it may be worth retaking it on a different day, or being more honest with yourself about the items you skipped. Use it as a reference point and a starting place for reflection, not a label.
Who created this assessment and what is the AMBP™? The Personal Burnout Risk Profile© was created by Sophie Anderson, burnout prevention specialist and creator of the Anderson Model of Burnout Prevention™ (AMBP™), a practical, research-informed framework that maps how burnout accumulates before the threshold is crossed and identifies the intervention points that allow you to act before burnout becomes the only option.
